Mage pet sword proc
I think it may be broken. When i put them on my necromancer pet I do not see any procs nor do I get the text on my chat saying that the swords proced for 40 damage. Can anyone else confirm? It started happening after today's patcher.

you using summoned swords? they've been normalized and only proc on summoned stuff now
|
My pet is summoned!
|
Terminology problem heh.
If your pet attacks elemental mobs, the swords will proc. If your pet attacks non-elemental mobs, they will not proc. That is because the proc spell is called "Ward Summoned" which normally can only be cast on elemental mobs - much like your "Ward Undead" spell can only be cast on undead mobs. (Off topic: your pet is undead) |
I see! Ty for the clarification!

The proc always worked if a PET used it reguardless of target.

Alecta: After November 2000 in the server timeline, pets will have their weapons proc as if they were players.
Doesn't say it was removed... Just says they will proc as a player held weapon would proc... My understanding would be at the same rate/frequency... Not sure if it was removed totally... I will check tonight to see if it was removed totally or if someone else more experienced with the swords can give us a def answer? |

November 29, 2000 3:00 am ------------------------------ *Patch Day* Today's patch includes updates to the client to address some problems reported by people in regards to the DX7 update, as well as other gameplay issues: - Random-effects on weapons carried by pets will now behave as if the pet is a player character rather than an NPC. The change last patch reduced them to a rate below player characters. As part of this patch, target-specific random effects will only work if the target is the intended type. For instance, a weapon that processes "Dismiss Summoned" will only "go off" on a summoned NPC instead of everything. |
