Troubles logging in?

Anybody ever get this message when trying to start up p1999? It's in the first patcher

Loading serverlist ...
Could not reach webserver. Trying again in 10 seconds.

Haven't done anything since that last time I've logged in.

Sweet thanks for saving me the time... just finished up some studying but no need to fire up EQ - off to bed early tonight :)

Yes - tick the box that says something like 'force EQ launch' in the options page for the EQEmu launcher.

Or you can make a shortcut to eqgame.exe and add the argument patchme (and /affinity 1 if you want to force EQgame.exe to only use 1 thread, mitigate some multicore issues) and start up that way, AFTER you apply the patches from either the EQEmu launcher or the eqchanges.zip file.

Go into you eq directory where you saved the files for the eq game and find the EQGAME.EXE. Make a shortcut to desktop or where ever. Right click the shortcut then properties. You will see something like this or wherever you saved it to C:\Program Files\Everquest\eqgame.exe
Add patchme to the end of it. So it should look like this C:\Program Files\Everquest\eqgame.exe patchme
Click apply and your all set.

The /affinity 1 flag forces the executed program (in this case eqgame.exe) to be bound to core 1. It's the same as if you launched EQ, opened task manager, right clicked on the eqgame.exe listing, chose the 'Set affinity...' option and unticked all other cores but core 1.

I never ran in to dual core issues as described on the forums, but I have been using this flag since about day 5 of my time here.
