Shuttles to Maiden's Voyage

While researching, I found alternate (original?) shuttle models.

These are quite different than the shuttles seen later, and currently in p99.

This pic is from graffe, circa April 2000.

Kunark Shuttles Ready:
Cuendilar Heartstone of Veeshan sent in this new picture of the Kunark shuttles in Butcherblock Mountains with the implemented graphics. These are not active but they are resident at the docks.

This is strange considering that's the same month Kunark was released.

Does anyone know more about the history of the Butcherblock shuttles?

Only memory to go on, but the ones we use are the original ones as far as I know?

I don't remember any weird boatesque shape.

Could be. I'd still be interested in knowing when they changed for history's sake.

Can't believe they made the deck bigger. This is EQ... those shuttle decks should have been floating Guk-circle bridges, and slippery.

The beginning of the end...first bigger decks...then wow.

Is there a reason why the boats to Kaladim/Freeport aren't the classic boats and they don't follow the classic pathing? I understand the boat code is insanely buggy -- was that the reason?

I do recall the shuttles having glitches in the beta but I'm not sure if it was the graphics or what.

I just wish we had the original boats for the Freeport to BB and Qeynos to Erudin trips.

I miss those boats.

So, we use the large ship model simply because the other boats are hollow on the client, and provide no collision with the players.

So, in my memory, the boats should look like this:

However, from doing research, I have pics that indicate the large boat was definitely used at some point. The dates are from the file's last modified date.

The reasoning the pathing is wrong is that.. it hasn't been corrected from implementation. The boat system is tricky to set up and more tricky to modify. I didn't make those routes initially, and will fix it at some point.

Damn, that sucks about why you can't use the original boats.

I know they didn't change the boats on Fenin Ro until well after Luclin.

Plus they had names and HP bars despite not being able to be attacked.
