problems connecting to r99
 

A buddy of mine installed the game, updated spell files. used wineq. Makes it to the server select he can load into blue 99, but when he connects to r99 he disconnects to login screen

I got a friend with same problem just installed today. 1017 error?

from what i understand, it just boots him to the login screen, but he can connect to any other server.

A couple of the errors were a result of overclocking. The others were not resolved, but connection issues were suspected.

Should have him post so we can ask questions etc.

I occasionally get the 1017 error as well, I would like to know how to solve this as well

We have gone through every thread and tried everything. He's gonna try using a net cable rather than wireless but he has to go buy one so I'm waiting to see the results of that.

u guys patching to red99 as well?

I just got on yesterday had the same issues, I found that if I put my desktop and game to 1280x720 or near it cxl'ed the booting me to login. I had tried like 4 different res combo's unsuccessfully so if that doesn't work try another combo.

If that doesn't work tell him to try and update all his drivers especially the ones you normally wouldn't think of.

I am new too so looking for friends and also for info on quests and vender locations I forget how difficult the game is when theres no maps! Friccan awesome!

1017 is such a pain in the ass. Definitely try using a hardwired connection instead of wireless to see if that makes a difference. trying different reso's may work as well.

the fact that you can connect to blue but not red is really, really strange. Does anyone know if red99 uses a different port to connect through than blue? If so, we may have found the source of this persons problem.
