Song haste stacking

Yes or no? I"m not talking overhaste. I need to know so I can pick my songs correctly when grouping with an enchanter.

Jify 07-14-2010 07:55 AM

Should be no.

I thought haste can be stacked like this:

1 song, 1 spell, 1 item

Is that not the case?

I guess I should ask you to clarify your question. DO you mean stacking haste songs or stacking a haste song with enchanter haste?

Jify 07-14-2010 08:14 AM

1 Song/spell haste
1 item haste
1 overhaste

Deric 07-14-2010 09:19 AM

Jify is correct. :)

Bards do not get a stackable haste until Velious. However, this haste(Ervaj) does not go over the cap. Songs that could put you over the cap were not until Luclin.(Vah Shir)

Enchanter haste (with the exception of aug) provides no stats. All of your songs provide stats on top of the haste effect. You will still receive the stat benefit, and should weigh this when considering your lineup.

Thanks for the clarification.
That's actually not bad, considering the AC, resist and DS songs that are often not twisted in groups due to always twisting the haste song.

One more question, which overwrites which?

Example:

Enchanter casts Quickness on the group, then bard sings Jonthan's Whistling Warsong.
Which haste is being used?
Is it always whatever the highest haste %?

Another example:

Jonthan's Whistling Warsong
versus
Augmentation

Which stats end up being used?

Theres physical stacking and actual effect stacking / precedence.
The songs should physically stack with, for example, enchanter haste, however only the highest haste percentage will be used. Even if it doesn't use the haste from the song due to having another buff with higher haste, it will still apply other effects from that song, provided they aren't also over precedented.

Uaellaen 07-14-2010 09:40 AM

should only use the one with the highest % haste iirc ...

EDIT: damn you for posting 30 sec before me!

This thread is awesome. A good question, followed by a couple good follow-up questions, and a solid answer. I dig it.

Let's lock it so we have our first flame-free thread!
