Anyone have a clue why I don't seem to be able to melee ?

I get the msg Auto attack is on and nothing happens as if i wasn't holding my staff (2hb)
and was holding non weapons in my hands.

And sometimes I get the msg Auto attack is on and first swing works but then it buggs out again (tested it several times vs a skell to make sure it wasn't moving and I missed it due to lagg or something)

and then randomly it starts working again for a mob or two.

Spell casting works everytime.

relog reboot doesn't help.

tried reinstalling?

i doubt thats the issue but im too tired to do a search on the forums for an answer - i know this question has been asked and answered before.
