GWF Hegel made the argument

human beings seek recognition from others as an essential aspect.

In other words, we seek recognition from each other, as basic fact of human life.

In the wake of that fact, there are tons of theories about how we then react.

But given Y, which equals others, there are always a wide range of Z, which are ways people gain recognition from Y.

Yeah, but you forgot to put X in your equation. X is always a unknown factor. So without it your never going to have XYZ. Big ommision mistake on your part. :p
