Joining Red '99
 

Hey All,

So I would like to get back into a little EQ and these seem to be the only real servers to play on. I used to play on VZTZ (Box 1.0/2.0).

Is there any low level XP groups? Would anyone help me get a little jump start if I joined. Probably making an SK. My cousins would join as well as RNG and CLR.

Don't make a SK. It will be incredibly hard to level 40+ without an obscene amount of gear or a dedicated crew to group with you every time you log on. I would suggest playing something that can solo as well as group or at the very least some kind of caster as your first character.

Thanks for the fast reply. We do have a semi-dedicated group. But we'll probably do a Druid / Necro / Bard. You think that's a better team?

Is there much lower level grouping or no?

I might make something to roll with you guys, was looking for a fresh set of faces to forge into the world with.

Necro are gods at pve but are kind of crappy at pvp. Druid/Bard are great classes. Maybe do druid/bard/ranger if one of you MUST play a melee class.


I would do druid/bard/wiz though cause yall could AoE kite like crazy and level up super-fast as well as being a nice gank crew.

When you guys start out send Tips/Knuckle/Kenzo or Soldier a tell and we can invite you to Natures Fury and show yall the ropes.

Roll your favorite character but realize that you will spend more time soloing here than you ever would on live.

If you're going to be playing with 2 buddies, a trio can pretty much handle the entire game and just be awesome...so each of you choose characters that you both LIKE and compliment eachother and you're in amazing shape.

If you're running 3 dudes definitely just choose your favorites. Gotta get into it. Don't get into it thinking "I'll get this piece of shit character to 50's and pharm some crap..and THEN i will start to enjoy the game"

Just enjoy it right from the get go.

fuck leveling a melee on this server

Just as an example - My friend has about 80k worth of gear on him and he can barley level his paladin past 40. He would enjoy leveling 1-40 but even if its your favorite class in the world nobody is going to be having fun when they are stuck at a level forever.

I would love to play a warrior but being able to level one 1-60 is just not feasible unless I put away 5 months to dedicate my life to leveling a character in everquest. Picking a class that you enjoy that can also solo will make you a lot happier and you'll be able to enjoy the game without worrying about getting a group.

Gustoo is my pal but ask him if he can get his cleric past 53 alone : / He has great gear and is a good player but unless he has a group or a friend then its just almost impossible to level efficiently.
