Kill steal?
 

So I log on where I'm camped right at raster. He's up and nothing around him is dead. I start clearing mino's and a few seconds later, Oooeygooey shows up and heads straight to raster and kills him, while I'm yelling "NOOOOO". I'd been camping for a week straight btw, seen about 50ph's.

Anyways, turns out that someone had said on ooc that raster was up, and Oooey had mentioned that she was going to get him. Well i logged on and started clearing BEFORE ooey got there, but after that was said in ooc.

Oooey claims she tried to kill raster, but got too much aggro and FD'd and /q'd out before I got there.

Was this a kill steal?

I feel like at the very least it was not terribly honorable of Oooey to just run up and kill him. I didn't try to contest her why she was killing, just tried to talk her out of it like a normal, decent human being.

Logging /quit is an abandonment of a camp and if Oooey deserved the idol she would know how to play a fucking monk and split the camp.

You got that idol stolen, sir.

To add, there is zero reason to /q at the raster camp to lose aggro.

So should I petition or something? I feel like I just wasted 30+ hours.

a) FD bug occurs, last night I ate a death in LGuk because as soon as i'd pop out of FD a wizard would come straight to me, and i was being dumb and trying to fd little by little to an exit instead of /q'ing

b) this is everquest, gonna have bad luck on spawns, which it sounds like you did. Seems a bit dramatic to say you wasted all your time. Were you IN the camp when it got pulled? You got leapfrogged, i dont know if id call that a kill steal. That's more bad manners than illegal

Yeah, i was killing 4 minos right outside raster room. Raster was next after them. Ooog saw this and ran right past me to him.

I don't generally post in RnF but seeing as this thread is accusing me directly I figure I should respond.

I was already making my way down to Raster to check if he was camped when the announcement was made that he had spawned, so I said in OOC that I was on my way down to kill him and proceeded to run down there as fast as I could, dragging a decent size train with me.

Once I reached the room outside Raster I feigned and /q'd to drop agro. There was no-one in the room or Raster's room at the time.

Upon logging back in (~2 mins later) I saw a necro fighting 3-4 Minotaurs in the room outside Raster's room, so I ran in there, engaged him and killed him.

As per the poster above - it wasn't a kill steal, and it may be perceived as being bad mannered, but it was a race to a mob that had been announced in OOC and you had no claim to, especially given you weren't actually in Raster's room and hadn't engaged him.

It is also very dramatic to claim that you have wasted 30 hours when in reality you wasted 2 minutes at most.

You think i was just killing minos for fun at lvl 54?

when you got back in game the area was being cleared/camped. it was a KS.
