eq shouldn't lag on any system that was built after ~2000, laptop or desktop.

ultrabook still qualifies as a laptop.

if you're experiencing any weird lag or FPS problems, its probably best to load up Wineq2, that usualy solves everything

thinking of buying a ultrabook wanted to be sure I wouldn't have a problem with EQ with it :)

Runs really well on the Surface Pro

Honestly hardware of 1999-2001 is so dated that its hard to make adequate comparisons. To put it simply, your smartphone has a higher processing power than the computers required to run classic EQ. Now Titanium requires a bit newer hardware due to the updated client, but even the Titanium client is from 2006.

You are more likely to run into issues with TOO GOOD of hardware (see the Tech Support Forum threads about using WinEQ2 to force EQ to only utilize a single processor core) and incompatibility with newer OSes than you are with having hardware that can't play EQ.
