Well.. because of all the hoopla over Microsoft's DRM, they have already publicly come out and said they won't do any of it like them. The system won't need to be online at all times to use. There will not be any device that must be plugged in for it to operate (like the kinect). When you purchase a game it's no licensed to you, but you actually own the disc, so current buying / selling / trading will still be the way business operates.
The only thing that it's looking like will change will be the fact that you can play online games totally for free at the moment. I'm going to guess that there will start to be a subscription fee for SP Plus to be able to play Battlefield and other dumbass shooters online.
BTW I read all the above information on Sony Playstation's Facebook, so it's legit.
