Instead of Wiping or Changing RED99 Add a FV/SZ Item Loot Ruleset type server.
Instead of Wiping or totally changing Red 99, just add a differnt server, call it Purple for all I care... do a a FV/SZ Item Loot Ruleset type server.
Red 99 is fully invested in, and fun for those who like it, I say let it run its course through Velious, and when Velious Launches add a Classic Era Time/Event locked server with all items trad-able and droppable with the exception of Epics, and certain class or end game quests such as Coldain Ring Spirit wracked Cords, Eyepatch of Plunder, Jboots, Sky Quests ect... Planar, Thurg, Skyshrine sets are fully lootable... so are Bracers of Benevolence type stuff... Features to have... -Progression Server, Both teams have to unlock the content at least 3 times each for the server to progress... - Item loot like RZ - Everything pretty much Trad-able like FV... - Teams Like SZ, except 2 teams, ( saw on Wermarchts post, think its a good idea) -No boxing, as much as it pains me.... - a large Group Exp Bonus ( like 200% ) - server exp bonus of 75% - Exp loss on a PVP death... ( only 9% of a full exp death) - loot tokens from pvp kills that can be traded at your city for faction + potions ( like summon corpse - can summon corpse to POD 3 or 4 hours after death... - Player can switch teams in exchange for 10 Levels if under level 50, 7 levels if over level 50... plus a huge amount of plat and a painfull quest... - Items such as Manastone, Guise, Fungi staff, COS, ect always drop/ quest, just at a reduced rate once its supposed to be nerfed... Also can always bind at Pots, ect... So new players are never at a disadvantage... Dark Elf Team: Dark Elves, Ogres, Iksars, Trolls, Half Elves ( Bards, Paladins, Druids, Rangers) Iksars Erudites Human Team: Human, Halfling Barbarian Gnome Wood Elf Dwarf High Elf Any Thoughts? And no I dont play either P99 server at this point... but played on just about every VZTZ and Guildwars server... |
why does everything think they have a better idea for teams? use the fuckin SZ ruleset. human team vs dark elf team makes no fucking sense. teams should be deity based to fit in with lore.

Because the teams on SZ and TZ were broke as shit, I played both...
What I think would work would be 2 teams that both have access to all the classes... Put the Half elves in Rathe mountains with guild trainers and spell vendors, and unkos in Neriak, Ogguk and Overthere... Both teams have the same classes so you can join either team and complete for end game content, both teams hardcoded like on SZ.. Also server wide announcement when CT, Inni, Trak, Naggy, VS spawn would be pretty sweet... And no nothing I am saying is new, I dont think it has all been done on one server, With Item loot and FV rules with 2 teams this would really be a PVP centric server... gearing up will be all about PVP and Raiding with your team / guild... Also Classic Resists for the win, Just make chanter nukes, mez, and cleric nukes land a little easier than classic.. |
there is no way they're going to massively overhaul the server in any way if you can't get rogaine to take 3 minutes out of his day to fix the exp bonus to what it's supposed to be
still though forumquest is booming atm keep it up dudes |
your idea of teams is dum tho, quit trying to balance eq. shit is unbalanced as fuck already. why would a necro of bertox be on the good team? cmon man

3 factions is the best way to go. an odd number is needed to balance shit out if one ever gets out of control. again deity based teams fits in with eq lore making for a more immersive experience. it also puts all the min/maxing lamos into one team (evils) so i dont have to deal with them :)

Have some PVP Exp loss ( was thinking 9% of normal exp loss if you have items that are loot-able equipped, 25% if you are fully no drop ) to discourage bind rushing, make it much worse on naked or no drop bind rushers.. |

Yeah I get it... as much as I would to play Red 99 again, the slow exp, no item loot, low pop, makes it seem like a bit of a time waste.. would like to be able to causally play end game and not have to attend every stinking raid to get geared out.. would be fun if there was team based item loot pvp.. yeah raiding will be the first way, but with most things droppable it would be pretty easier for a newer player to join a guild, get hooked up with, trade, or pvp for a good set of gear plus some spares... Kinda like on VZTZ with item loot and planar being droppable... Once I hit 50 I ended up joining Heresy and was in the middle of massive pvp with the TZT Horde right away.. yeah people lost planar items ect.. but it was all cool, it was easy to farm, loot, or trade for another.. nothing game breaking... Once you joined a guild you could get geared up pretty quick and compete with the top end of the server. It was fun, it was PVP..
