Well, certain spells like 'Mask of the Hunter' for druids can increase FoV, so it is technically possible. However, I do not think there is a setting you can alter the value for in the video settings in game. If I had to guess, the setting is buried in some innocuous looking file in your directory. Goodluck, and let us know if you find it.

Well, you can F9 from first person view to third person. From there, you can change camera positions.

I can't play eq not in first person. That's how I did it for years. Would playing in a non fullscreen lower res window help?

get out of full screen and widen that resolution

http://wiki.project1999.org/Assiduous_Vision does it. One of my favorite spells, I cast it on myself.

For me scrolling down with the mouse wheel and into 3rd person can help with motion sickness.

Play in whatever point of view u are comfortable with, personally I dont get the advantage of first-person. First-person effectively cuts off half of your FoV (whats behind you) which limits your reactions to situations. Thats just my $0.02.

There are no advantages to 1st person, and you can always tell if a person is playing in it....and I don't mean that in a good way.
