Question about RZ
 

Just wondering what the skill level of PvP and population on RZ was compared to the classic days during PoP.

I was pretty young during the original RZ days and played on Solusek Ro anyways but after winning the caster FFA on our server during PoP I got cocky and xfered to RZ. Never lost a fight and was very vocal about it coming down to many duels infront of many people. Karubi the Keeper of the Ages. Was only there with Ascending Dawn for about a month at the time and killed the sleeper with them, EQ felt complete and I quit.

People here, even the bads are better than a lot of clueless people you could bag on RZ. There's still bads here though.

Be prepared as a new player, the gear disparity and state of resists here is rough on all but the most fearsome of basement dwellers.

Having 2 60 bards chase me around with unresistable highsun or being accompanied by a melee train with unresistable (18 second stun spin proc) skean is about par for the course.

You missed the era where you probably would have found the best competition in players. Velious killed a lot of the incentive on RZ for PvP because of the easy no drop gear. By that point, PvP was just ganking by a few disorganized guilds. Sullon Zek had its moments for a few short months before SoL, Legends server, and later PoP sapped the last bit of will from anyone who wanted to care about PvP.

I'm not sure what you mean when you said you won so many duels. Did you 1 shot kill with a manaburn? Kill someone in 5 seconds from out of spell range with AM3? PoP era PvP was probably the worst in the history of EQ and maybe one of the worst in any game since.

I was a shaman, Karubi and never lost. Duel'd a couple people from forums that were considered the top Rangers on the server and never lost , even got begged for reduels until trueshot came up again just to win more. Remember one night out in HoH I was dueling everyone infront of a crowd of over 50 and didn't lose one all night, They were there to beat me cause of how much trash I was talking and still I didn't die once. And these were RZ's top PvPers of the era cause I was very vocal about Solusek Ro blue being better players than RZ red.

It was always my impression that RZ and SZ had the worst PvPers (in general), for various reasons.

Most RZ players had less experience with pvp because they were mostly an anti server (not that there's anything wrong with that!), and whenever pvp actually began they all started bagging gear instead of fighting.

SZ players just trained, from what I understand. Basically blue server pvp. Either that or high levels going after low levels, and evil team vastly outgearing the others. Kind of like here, Nihilum might have some really great pvpers, but they can't ever be recognized as such because of their gear advantage.

But I never understood the pissing contest anyway. You can't win an MMO, and each Zek server was awesome and unique in their own ways :)

90%+ of nihilum is really god awful at this game
