Animals in Trakanon's Teeth

The frogs and animals are supposed to be killing each other in classic, however I just wanted to report that it's currently to the point where there is not a single animal in Trakanon's Teeth. It seems that the Froglok's are either too strong, or aggroing too much to the point where no animals even exist in the zone (have been here for a while checking and haven't found one). No raptors, saurs, cockatrices, tigers/ess, or anything else.

Just wanted to inform the staff.

true. i ran around TT for about 45 min the other day. saw one animal pop on track for about 30 seconds then it was gone. i think the animals are getting merc'd as soon as they spawn.

The animals getting owned goes hand in hand with the casters being too powerful on this server.

Some alterations may be in order. Per the link you posted, it seems that the animals were the default kings of the hill if things were left alone, as per this snippet in the same thread:

"Monday I had gone to the zone and killed off lots of the wildlife (about 2 hours) and all of the wildlife names hoping that would help. When I left, there were frolok shamans all over the place. However I wasn't noticing what type of shamans they were. I'm a bit surprised that by Tuesday night the wildlife were in charge again."

On P99, it seems that the frogs are the default kings of the hill. Perhaps this IS indicative, as someone else suggested, that casters on P99 are relatively overpowered (a common assertion) - or perhaps the spawn rate on frogs needs to be slowed or the spawn rate on animals upped, or something.

I don't agree that they should be fighting at all - I don't think this is a balance of power issue. However, the froglok shamans here do cast higher level spells that they should be - to see a shaman pet in TT on live was a rare thing. On P99 nearly every shaman in the zone has a pet.

All of the mobs here cast higher level spells than they should but its nearly impossible to get enough evidence to prove otherwise.

The worst spell you'd encounter from a lvl 49+ Wizard mob was Rend or Conflag, NPCs didn't cast Ice Comet and spent most of their time casting useless shit like Shock of Flame or Root. It was also MUCH easier to partial resist, and full resists were common especially at 150+ resist.

On the topic at hand, TT mobs shouldn't be fighting with each other. There should be trash mobs mirroring the bodytypes used by the named from the forager/hunter cycles. Never saw mobs fighting in TT on live, but I also can't find any evidence supporting my claim. +1 to the anecdotal pile.
