Yeah, legal issues. If you're pulling money out of an emulated server for adding paid products/services like that I can only imagine it could put P99 at risk.
Everything Sektor mentioned is avoidable.
- Name changes: Before naming a new alt I probably stare at the screen thinking for about 5-10 minutes. If I hate a name its usually by the time I've handed my guild note in, and delete and start over. If you get to level 40 and suddenly realise "Kungfumrmagoo" was a bad name for your monk then it's just tough luck, think hard and think early :p
- Account transfers: I'd love to say I've stuck to the rule of "1 account, 1 character" but I haven't. That said, I wouldn't want to move my characters around or sell off one character to someone else. Avoidable with planning in any case, just a bit of extra time at the EQemu site and probably writing down account names/passwords.
- Race changes: If you roll an uncommon race/class combo I'd say that makes you more unique - why should you get the benefit of being a dark elf SK to then pay to be a troll SK with the extra regen etc once you reach 60. Dodging racial penalties would be commonplace :p
Overall, we've all put weeks/months/years of our lives into our characters... I don't want to put mine at risk! If the server was set to come down because its making big losses to keep going, I'd click some google ads, I'd donate (again) to play here...whatever it took :)
