can't open story window
 

When i start the game it tells me to pres alt N to open it but when i do it nothing happends how do i fix this?

I don't even know what that is. The titanium client that p99 runs on is from a later expansion of EQ than p99 goes to so there are a number of things referenced that we can't use, like the map for example.

Story window is a feature that is from live, Planes of Power era I think. This function does not exist on Project 1999, but you really shouldn't be getting any prompts to use it either. You may be using some newer client then you're supposed to.

I was wondering would installing the Original Everquest, The Ruins of Kunark, Scars of Velious CD's work instead of Titanium?
