Paladin gear

I have a 51 paladin with a Reaver and a deepwater helm as well as vambraces. Are there other important clickies that a paladin should work towards besides the deepwater breastplate? Looking to gear up!

If you’re trying to get more clickies then DW greaves would be good for the str buff and also eyepatch of plunder for the extra haste. Based on what you have though once you get dw bp that’s pretty much all you need.

Yea they are pretty dang good with limited gear. The helm heals back a lot of hps/min for the price. DW helm, bp, and arms have seen most of my clicks. Besides ring 8, ragefire arms, and a few others.

Probably over time using the gloves to pull would be handy. A bit slow but saves stun for in-camp and less annoying than a blinded mob running around. Plus you might get lucky and strip a buff like a damage shield or haste.

Also work towards a Narandi Crown + Shawl 7. Extra mana regen is always nice on hybrids. Not clickies, but they help with mana just like clickies.

Ragefire vambraces and ring 8 can be such a pita to get, but definitely worth it; kilva's potions are the go-to option in the meantime. Damage shields on a tank are significant whether in groups or on raids, especially a tank that doesn't have defensive/evasive discs and isn't known for DPS.

An obvious one but still worth noting is SoulFire, since it's paladin-only on p99 and not too difficult to quest; it's also worth collecting the necessary pieces and banking them until your current SoulFire charges are expended. Then destroy, run to Splitpaw, acquire a brand new one.

Other than those? Journeyman's Boots/SoW pots and Pegasus Feather Cloak/Vial of Roiling Gas for QoL.

*Depending on race, Ivandyr's Hoop can be yet another item to prevent death with the plus being that each click will increase your damage output, assuming no resists.

Deepwater bracer is extremely underrated. Very useful for pulling and really shines when tanking caster mobs for a group where your DPS isn't needed. With shield bash, casted stuns and DW bracer spam combined you can pretty much singlehandedly lock down a mob and prevent it from casting.

Deepwater BP, Fungi, and Crown of Narandi should be your big priorities.

Godspeed

Thank you all --- really appreciate the feedback! Seems paladins dont need toooo much gear to be good, unlike the ranger or even SK

Yea I levelled mine solo with a DW helm and reaver/narandi to 60. The ranger was tough without a fungi.

Up to helm-click level the early hp/ac line (courage etc) is more efficient to heal with than healing. I think greater is when it’s about the same. At 39 the self-regen spell is really nice for those afk meds back to full.

It really depends on the context. My sk with fungi & crown could fear kite nonstop and easily out level a paladin. Not to mention the 52/58 pets quad for 39/46 which is nothing to sneeze at while leveling.

Pally will probably have a little more diversity in places to go though, like kedge for instance, or KC basement. If SK has to face tank, they are subject to a lot more downtime. You'd be surprised where you can fear kite though as an SK using short duration fears paired with bash.
