Public Service Announcement: Gangrenous Touch of Zum'uul

Objectively and without a doubt, this spell is not worth more than 2k pp tops and only to complete your spell book.

It doesn't land on anything significant and if it does land, it's inconsistent (resisted 2/3 casts on Glimmer/Shimmer drakes in ToV). As a necro, you should be maximizing your efficiency and this spell does not do that in any meaningful capacity.

Enchanters have over farmed Chardok and want to utilize your ignorance of the spells' abilities to continue ripping the community off. I, along with many other necros, have tested this spell extensively and there is no justification for paying tens of thousands of plat for it, under any circumstances.

Beware the snake oil that is this spell.

Have a great day!

Thanks for doing the testing! It's hard to not be tempted when it's a different resist check on a new spell, so it's good to know the reality of its usefulness :)

Yeah it is crap,it's only expensive because it drops off a mob you can only kill while the queen is down.
So you need a crew to farm the queen, then kill a mob in the worst room to fight in the zone.

Perhaps it should be landing more? Might be worth some additional research

There's a reason the drop wasn't even found / discovered for years after implementation lol.

Even the ph is annoying to kill, bugger gates.
Go through all that nonsense to spawn the advisor. Empty corpse

I wholeheartedly agree that the spell is being sold for way more than it should be, but beyond that it’s just a disease based “Touch of Night”. Seems like it should benefit from the “Scent” line of spells, as far as being resisted. Is it really that bad?

The issue is that there aren't many (any?) use cases where the difference in resist would be beneficial, given the testing that has been done.

When this first dropped we were super excited that it could potentially be usable on raid targets, as one of the biggest PITAs for necros (and SKs) when raiding is that pretty much everything in end-game resists LTs of all kinds.

For things that weren't unclassically changed to completely resist LTs, you don't have to worry about resists since there is a HUGE negative MR modifier on them, It's been years since I played but I can't recall getting LT resists outside of the non-classic immune mobs on P99.

UCF mad that he picked the wrong class to start with. Could have been ENC and griefing people's wallets from the start.
