Starter Paladin gear
 

hello all.

Ive been on P99 a couple weeks. My first char is a monk up to 25. I have a hankerin to try a Paladin, i have maybe 400-600pp saved up to start the Pally off with. Never playing EQ in this era, what would be my best bet to look for gear wise in EC ?

Ghoulbane and a full set of Banded. Go grab a Shiny Brass Shield on your Monk from CB too

Seconded Ghoulbane. If you can squeeze in a hp ring or 2 that would be great. Then save for a haste item.

Ghoulbane quickly becomes archaic with Kunark. Sure you will get some fights with half a dozen procs and others with maybe one. It’s a gamble with such a bad ratio.

A Jade Mace or even Poison Wind Censer into Baton of Faith (post 30) will do better for you. It’s also slow so if you are intent on hunting undead you can mix in an undead nuke between swings. If grouping use the jade and shield or a sword of the morning to keep 1hs up. I’m on blue but green prices on the SoTM are really good. That thing is serviceable to 60 for groups. Baton of Faith likewise can take you solo to 60 albeit painfully.
