Pantheon will probably close shop within 2 years
 

I hate to say it, but it probably will happen. That's if it's released, which at this point I'm 50% confident it will.

I just don't think there are enough people interested in the niche genre at this point in time. Everything seems to be going towards mobile gaming or console gaming. Now people prefer to play simple mind numbing time killers vs something that really immerses them. It even seems like a lot more people would prefer to watch someone play a game then play it themselves.

There was very little competition when EQ released 20 years ago. Now there are so many games to pull people away, I just can't see a dedicated player base staying around for more than a year or 2. The draw for people to play on p99 is mostly nostalgia based. Nostalgia really won't exist on Pantheon, certainly not at the level found here.

I'll play it if it realeases. I look forward to the content and immersing myself. I look forward to it being better than what project99 offers.

It's sad but true

If they delete the flaming swords and make it like everquest. But with updated (less sweatshop kindergarten) graphics (more professional) and no mudflation, but content instead, and no gimmicks and not RMT store. Maybe.

I doubt this will ever exist.

They also need to cater towards people with 25 year old computers. Not some crap now. I doubt they dev'd the game in DX8. Or some scurvy version of opengl that runs on absolutely anything.
