An unknown login error

1 Attachment(s)
I've been playing for a couple of months now with no issues. When I went to login today (approximately 08:30AM EST 08November2024), I got to the server selection screen and saw over 300 folks on Green. When I tried to login, I repeatedly received a message that says "An unknown error occurred while trying to join the server."

I get the same error if I try to login to blue or red.

A guildie is having the same issue.

We've both rebooted our PCs, to no avail.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'm having this same issue.

How did you fix the problem?

Kavious 11-23-2024 04:22 AM

If you setup Middlemand (login helper) it gets around the login problem and you can login

Instructions and download on the github page (need to edit eqhost.txt)
https://github.com/rm-you/p99-login-middlemand/releases

Once setup correctly, you'll only see p99 servers

This worked. Thanks!

Had this issue over Thanksgiving weekend; Kav's suggestion worked perfectly!

Yeah that file should be linked on the front page or something, super helpful. I had same issue, and it instantly fixed it, and also for some reason fixed my issue of crashing while camping back to char select. Kav the man.

Holy crap. A solution. I'm going to go paste this into the other threads about this current wave of non-log-in-itude.

This exe and eqhost edit just solved my login issue on W11.

As stated elsewhere on forums, issue occurring again 2 Jan. 2024. Re-installed Middlemand/ re-edited eqhost and was able to log right in.

bump for this life saving thread (checking the Middlemand box on pigparse, fixed this for me)
