Can't launch the game - Did I mess up, or miss a step?

I am at a loss at what to do next. I installed Titanium (fresh). I downloaded the p99 files required, and deleted the ones mentioned.

I am stuck at the Launch Titanium part. This is a windows batch file. But nonetheless I double click it, it launches, but that is all it does. I am stuck at a black screen that I have to force close with task manager to get rid of.

Any clues as to what to do next?

First timer here on this server and am anxious to get started!

Just want to add in, that I can get the game to launch with winEQ, but for some reason it isn't launching with the normal launch. I prefer to use the normal launcher as I like playing full screen, especially with only 1 client.

Try adjusting the resolution in the eqclient.ini file thusly:

WindowedMode=TRUE

WindowedWidth=1280
WindowedHeight=700
Width=1280
Height=700

But insert values more inline with (and just under) your monitor settings.

did you a) modify the eqhost.txt file to redirect to the emu server, and b) are you using the eqemu launcher?

Will try that when I get home today.

I had troubles getting it to start up on my 8.1 pc until I set eqgame.exe to run as administrator.

Still no closer to launching normally. Still have to use WinEQ to launch correctly. Better than nothing for now, but I hope to resolve it soon.

Hi All. Brand new player here and I seem to be having the same problem: Black screen at launch with a EQ style mouse cursor.

I tried the eqclient.ini edit suggested above but no luck. Question: My eqclient.ini did not have any screen settings, so I just paste in what I think will work for me, adding to the existing text?

I reviewed the forums and saw thread http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=177704 gives the same sort of eqclient.ini solution with some added settings.

Concerning using eqgame.exe to launch, thread http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=94124 says the Getting Started instructions are in error, that eqgame.exe should be used to launch. The thread has instructions for making a shortcut to eqgame.exe with some additional settings. I want to confirm this too, if possible.

I have not yet tried using WINEQ2 and wondered if that should be a first step. I wanted to systematic and not try several fixes at the same time.

Thanks!
