Kind of agree. I feel like this type of game attracts bad people for numerous reasons. Like I could go join any random WoW server, join a guild, hop on Discord and have a lot of friendly conversations with players who are genuinely interested in helping each other or hanging out. Probably get to know each other and become long-term friends.

On EverQuest it's literally people just trying to steal off of me or rip me off 24/7, and this is a game where people put 60 hours into farming an item. Most of these people have any interest in interacting with other players or making friends. Pretty grimy crowd when you come down to it.

I'm not claiming to be a hero, but I probably wouldn't have believed the random strangers who contacted me without having access to this guys criminal history. We were a popular guild and I regularly had to deal with random players messaging me trying to stir up drama since I was an officer. My initial reaction was adamantly defending him, and then I started remembering some of the things he said to me on voice chat that started to concern me, but that I hadn't thought anything of at the time. I finally created an alternate character and went to Goldshire (popularly referred to as "pornshire" on said server), and witnessed it for myself.

Once I finally called him out for it and reprimanded him I saw his true personality. Went from being the most meek person on the planet to being a foaming-at-the-mouth sociopath and stalker who made death threats towards me and my extended family on social media.

In all seriousness, Moon Guard is the socially active server. Literally kicking myself in the ass for spending $60 to transfer all my mains to Illidan. Like go look at Elwynn Forest on Moon Guard or look at their trade chat, and then compare it to Illidan or Stormrage. People on Moon Guard actually want to talk and interact with people. The high population servers are ghost zones outside of instances, and the only thing you see in trade chat is chinese spam.
