I think it's wrong to say that the riot at the capitol had intent, I think it was just a mob doing what a mob does and though some people had intent to overturn the election, others just wanted anarchy, others wanted to go protest, but like the mostly peaceful protests before it, it became a riot.

Did you even see any of the video? It goes beyond protest immediately.

Where did they state that intention? How was breaking into the building going to overturn the election? All I heard was that they didn’t feel the election was fair. Why are they not being charged with treason or any more serious crimes for an insurrection? Gonna have to cite some sources documenting their stated intentions. I’m big on sources

It didn't go beyond the 100 days of mostly peaceful protests that led up to it, or any other countries protests have gone in the last 4 or 5 years by a long shot.

You asking me? Does my opinion affect what they are going to be charged with? (Hint: it’s not insurrection). I believe they were protesting an election they didn’t feel fair. I also didn’t feel the election was fair, does that make me an insurrectionist? If I break into a USPS post office would that make me one? It’s a federal building

That’s why I think they were there, because they wanted to break into a federal building, and possibly steal some shit, which some of them did. What was their objective? HTF am I going to know that without talking to them or reading their minds?

Their objective initially was to protest, and that protest got out of control and involved breaking and entering, vandalism, and theft. And that’s what they are being charged with
