I buy, sell and trade used coffins. And collecting 3 alimony checks. And every year around spring I go around buying old video games at garage sales and resell them on ebay. I love hipsters spending their parents money on Earthbound and other misc "retro pieces of art"

From reading these posts, the answer is "don't have a life outside of your job and EQ" from what I can tell....or don't have a GF/wife that lives with you.

I work 40 hours a week and there is no way with spending time with my GF, working out, and drinking with friends I could log " 5-7 hours a day each weekend day" and 2 hours a weekday without losing one of the aforementioned. If I could get my GF to play EQ it would be doable...... don't you guys every sit back and think that you are wasting your lives away playing 7 hours of EQ every Saturday and Sunday?

Bolded is the dealer breaker in my opinion. When I was on my own I could always work in a few hours even with work/running/hanging out. Now that the girlfriend is living with me, I might get 10 hours a week if she has studying to do. Makes me feel a bit sad that I can't re-live the fun of my early teens as much as I might like to but I wouldn't trade it.

While I agree that 5-7 hours per day is excessive, "waste" is subjective. Your thing is working out. Other people might consider that a waste.

After work and sleep, I have about 10 hours per day to do whatever the fuck I feel like. Wife gets a few hours... maybe. I really don't spend "weekly" time with friends, especially doing something as wasteful as drinking with them. I talk to them a few minutes, here and there, and maybe see the especially close ones once every 2-3 weeks.

So... 7 hours per day. Jeez... what to do?

I wish I was a trust fund baby, life and finding time for EQ would be way easier then.

if i don't have a paper to write or anything to read then i'll usually play saturday afternoons until 9 or so. school and work take up most of my time, so i chill with friends friday and saturday nights. mainly why i play a shaman.

What I really want to know is how those in bat phone guilds do not manage to mess up their lives/health when they might have to work in 3 hours after a 4:30 AM raid.

Have multi characters you bought camped out at raid targets, then laugh when people have to actually take the time to move to the location since account trading is banned for reasons unknown.

Either that or expect 3 year goals.

I work 60 hours a week, doubt there are many more people on the server that work more than that. I have plenty of time to play. The misconception is that you need 10 hour grindfests to "accomplish" anything, or that you have to get 2 levels every time you're on. Find your niche; what makes EQ fun for you and do it in moderation. That way when you get a chance at good ole 10 hour neckbeardom it's fun, not business as usual / one step closer to burning out.
