I dunno. They basically probably looked at the situation and whoever came up with a greater nightmare scenario that was a better story teller probably won and here we are.

This is life, a game that is run by humans. Just like you or me.

The UNITED STATES PRESIDENT's lawyer, Rudy Guliani, who was the mayor of New York.. accidentally booked the Four Seasons Landscaping parking lot to do a press conference instead of the Four Seasons Hotel.

So. Think about that. Idiocy and mistakes happen no matter what. Well, not really as often for smart people, but, still, they happen.

Presumably they thought "shit if we don't remove quests people are gonna do (what I, Sethius, planned on doing) a bunch of quest turn ins and just skyrocket iksars to level 50. That's gonna be weird!

And somehow that was more important to them that that didn't happen that way then all the other ways. And they didn't really think about all the consequences to everyone else everywhere that wasn't planning on abusing the system.

So. Who knows.

And honestly. They'll probably read this post, cause why wouldn't they. And they'll realize that "Hey, we can just decide to backtrack and who cares" and turn quest exp back on in a day or two because they realize they made a mistake in the vein of not really preventing anything from happening.

Or. They won't.

Who knows. I acknowledge that it sucks for people to not have quest exp. That does seem dumb. But if I had to guess it was probably something to do with people skyrocketing to 60 with some weird quest exploit or plan rather than leveling up iksars quickly. Cause if a guild like found a way to turn in a bajillion whatevers at rollout and just instantly have all level 60's, then that would be a game breaker because they'd just crush and own content forever by having done so.

So, maybe that was their nightmare scenario. That Seal Team would have spent months farming up 23874928309 gnoll scrolls in anticipation.

Who knows.

It isn't abount the lizards, it is about claiming the biggest cash camps and limited duration drop items for as long as possible which is best done with a very quick 60.

This guy gets the problem EXACTLY right. Nothing at all to do with Iksars.

I think that is totally correct. It makes sense that they wanted to prevent people from getting to 60 instantly. A month just seems like a long time to keep people from getting quest exp. Isnt kunark era less than a year?

I get that you would probably have people insta questing to 60. But completely removing XP gains from quests does seem like the lazy approach.

Why not go through the select few quests that people were expected to be "exploiting" for unreal XP gains to 60 and impose a level restriction (say below level 50) on XP gain? Or maybe that isnt possible from the quest code? Or maybe simply disabling those particular quests?

But I guess with the amount of time some people invest in this server - maybe even the bone chips quest in Kaladim would eventually make you 60, lol

I don't remember people hoarding low level quest drops to PL their iksar at launch. Seems classic to me.

Which turn in quests were people going to exploit to get to 60 quicker? Tanned skins?

Turned in 6 greater lightstones before I realized what was up
