If you came up with an elaborate enough event and provided the dev/gm staff with all of the details and did pretty much all of the work.

I think the staff would help you put on an actual event.

Maybe like have a pace maker. A bard or someone who can't be out run. Watching the leaders?

im not 100% that reds can receive ports from blues but to prevent it you could probably find a few people willing to be markers standing in each zone, when a racer enters they /shout the marker checks it. If a racer makes it to the end without being checked then you could assume they were ported.

or make them have to be non role/anon so you could /who <GUILD> (make a gnome race guild to make it easier) keep track of people and if you see someone go from gfay > BB > WC...

Possible..but would only work if everyone follows the same route. If the group splits up taking their own shortcuts anything could happen at that point.

One thought...Mass lvl 1 dorfs all red to stop buffs...gather at unrest ent...and first one to reach the basement wins.

Or something along these lines...Have guide stand in middle of kithkor at night and first lvl 1 hobbit to reach him wins etc.

Only issue i see with this is no one can really watch the event.

lvl 1 red dwarf swim race kedge keep entrance to phinnies lair. just EB them at entrance / have GM's wipe the zone of mobs

CT Maze challenge, have gm's wipe the zone of mobs, lvl 1 red ogres. start in the Cy and have a few people setup at specific locations in the maze, mini aof/mask room/ other dead ends ogres must enter the door run through the maze hail all 5 pc's who give them 1 item, and then turn them into the last person at the top of the temple past maze.

Unrest always had a good backstory, clean the zone have the gm's spawn a few named npc's or just change the name / illusion a few willing PC's. Rerun the story of the dwarf killing the qeynosian quellious family ( i think ) have a few mini events set up at the zone when the dwarf first enters you have to warn the family, then when he enters the house you have to escort them downstairs, when he gets closer he catches and kills the girl ( the little girl zombie in the moat area ) in the end he kills them all and have noobs capture him / try him which he ends up being beheaded (dwarf ghosts heads arent attached ) whoever gets the killing blow on the dwarf gets the prize or whoever does the most dps.

Heres a crazy idea...

Lets have an GM event for the GMs.



Everyone who wants to participate rolls a lvl 1 pvp enabled toon. GMs summon them to a remote zone, somewhere semi dangerous as well. Once the event starts the lvl 1s scatter to hide/run etc and are given 1-2 minutes before the GMs start the hunt.

They can use SOW and Deathtouch but no tracking abilties.

Last 3 lvl 1's left alive get rewards. Maybe have a consolation prize for the person with the best name.

Who doesnt like hide and seek? This should be fun for all the lvl 1's running for their lives.

Who doesnt like to slaughter helpless noobs? This should be a blast for the GM's as well. And after all the time they donate to the server the bitching and whining they put up with...I think they deserve to kill us a few times =)

I've thought alot about how fun a race from Rivervale to Halas would be. Was thinkin people would prob die too much at level 1 unbuffed, so you'd have to make sure you have enough druids there at the start to do pack sow right before (and perhaps during to people who die and respawn). Would also be pretty good to have them all pvp flagged, but then even your druids couldn't buff them. Maybe if you did have a GM they could just flag all of them right after start. Could call it like the "Ironling Triathalon".

Would be neat to see if people picked to run through Runnyeye or Highpass. Would probably have to have a couple 'pace cars' to keep track of the head of the pack. If somehow you beat a pace car to Halas then you prob cheated. The previously proposed idea about registering and getting names seems cool, but unfortunately might be a cluster in implementation (can you imagine how many will show up without having registered?).
