How many people do you think actually are playing everquest for the first time?

Server is thriving, group exp is forcing people to actually group up to lvl, I've seen tons of new players. This is working exactly as they intended.

There is a really cool game called "darkfall" you guys would love. You can mindlessly grind for almost no reward to your heart's content.

Relax pal. I use that term to describe people who level so quick they don't know their classes.

I suppose for pvp it's gonna be good to rofl stomp them I just worry getting steamrolled is gonna force some weaker players off. Anyways, just a thought.

I fully intend I get roflstomped in pvp regardless of the fact that I have been playing EQ off and on for the last 15 years. Nature of the beast. Shortening the grind so people can start learning faster is only a good thing.

I don't want people getting fast exp cause they won't learn to play class and die on pvp then quit? So you rather have no one on then? Lotta talkers not many thinkers on this thread.

But I can't. Because it's blatantly obvious that half of our population won't play here without easy xping and we need every warm body that we can get right now. We're seeing 200's on at a time and I think it's fair to say that if Velious released, it would jump to 300-400 with the current rates.

It's serving it's purpose, though only to an extent. A lot of these new players are outleveling the chance to keep up on gear and spells, despite the generosity of a lot of the vets here, so they'll be ill-equipped for pvp later on and likely quit out of frustration.

Xp bonuses aren't an all or nothing sort of deal. It would have been better if the devs started with something lower (always easy to increase it, but decreasing will always piss people off) but it's never set in stone. It's not an on/off switch, you know? And right now it is simply too much.

I still don't understand why a bonus was implemented at all 50+, where groups were already happening.

This doesn't feel like EQ to me.

0-16 population server isn't classic either

If you want to take a break at 20 and farm sisters for plat and pvp, this EXP is REALLY good fir it for newbz. They can buy their 1 new level 20 spell and have some fun, then get back to grinding and catching up with the server, and twink alts. Where all the fun is at leveling and pvping in groups. I haven't seen more low level pvp. Less in fact. BUT.

People are grouping and playing on the box. Which is miraculous. We even almost have a 4th small guild forming. I mean WTF... this is unheard of on red. This is a good "experience" (tm) atm.
