Thank you very much p1999 staff for all your hard work. I know things don't always go the way they are planned. I just want to commend you all for all your hard work and look forward to when the servers are back up.

Back then, servers were always up and there was almost no downtime besides patch day, and you could pretty much always play late on patch day again.

I think you might have played a different game. Patch days were always horrible and you could pretty much count on them not meeting the predicted downtime.

i remember a patch every 2 weeks or so in classic along with 12 hour downtimes. Can't complain too much about the state of things here especially when we play for free. Though, I will have to agree I'd rather be told an overestimated downtime than an underestimated downtime. We only complain because we love the server so much and can't stand to be away from it. Thank you to all the devs~

verant downtime sucked, anyone remember downloading the update files on a 56k or worse modem? jesus that took another day. Whoever said they would spend time in the tutorial just to get a bit of their fix i laughed out loud to that... totally relate, did the same thing.

In the classic era I played on Rallos Zek server.

NeverQuest, for us, was a daily roll of the dice. At any time we tried to log on the server might be down. No warning, no expedience on the part of admin.

We who played there, referred to it as the Test Server...this was actually quite accurate, since many patches were applied to us first. This also meant that in times the server *was* up, things were broken left and right. RZ was the only pvp server at the time and none of us wanted to play anywhere else, so the comparison is complete...

The time I spent playing on RZ in the early days makes extended p99 downtime look like a 10-minute reboot.

Rogean and co. do their best, love this game and their peeps and it's more than adequate for me. Free or not.

Yeah let's complain about needed downtime at the one place we get to play eq classic for free!

No.

Way better than the old days. Servers were always down for 3-12 hours. It was years before they even got it down to just every week or two. It used to be all the time. - Remember the emergency maintenance?

Just stop.

Go play your RL char, and poop in a toilet instead of a sock for once. :)

+1

I wonder what is this magical game he remembers, because it sure wasn't Kunark era EQ!
