cannot attach error with Windows 10 can mean you have updates waiting to be installed. Powering off your comp will not install the updates, you must restart for the install to go through after which you should be able to login. Most of us from Windows 7 are used to Shutting down and expecting the updates to be installed when we start the comp back up, apparently in 10 they wanted to avoid nailing us with the 1 of 289 updates needs to install before you can power me off or I'll corrupt your os hehe

I posted this same error in technical forum a few minutes before googling. (did it backwards). This happened to me last night. I posted in the technical forum that nothing new had occurred since my last successful login (Thursday night) but after reading these posts I forgot to mention I did allow a windows update last night before attempting to login. I run Win7.

This same error happened to me after an AVG update. I disable AVG and it goes away.

that did it. I had to actually remove AVG though. Looking for another Free Virus Prot.

thanks

Running windows 8, got this message after an AVG update. Temporarily disabled it and loaded eq to get around it.

AVG update is deff. the issue

Disabling AVG didn't work for me. I added an exception for EQ and then it worked.

I recall I got this message after installing the latest rev of Visual Studio on my laptop, os you may actually have a debugger running if you've installed software of this nature?

Mg
