better to rip the bandaid off for everyone involved if you don't want to wait for the movie to be over before getting up and leaving.
the letters and messages for loved ones to read after are an asshole thing to do also, it's all just narcissism and main character syndrome, i woke up once to 20 text messages from someone deciding to check out and i didn't even read em just deleted it and glad i did.

For starters its a hypothetical situation. I'm not actually suicidal and am scared of going to Hell if I did something like that.
Secondly, I'm not close with any of my family, most of my friends are people I play WoW with and don't know IRL. I don't think anyone would really be that devastated if I just went missing, but co workers and what not would probably be really confused. I'm also a fan of that kind of youtube video. I think mysteries like this are fun for the community honestly.
By this same metric you could argue that anyone who speeds on the interstate, any soldier who volunteers to go to war or police officer, fire fighter, construction worker etc. who serves in a dangerous job is also a narcissist because imagine how devastating it would be for their families if they died etc.
Seems a little hyperbolic.
Edit: I am close with a single relative, who again, would prob be more devastated if they found me dead than rather if I just went missing. In the past I've gone 5 years without contacting them and they never once thought anything bad happened to me and that I was just off doing my own thing etc.
