I'm positive we must be just a handful of friendly posts away from the dev team greenlighting a new pvp server. They've always had our backs, it's just that things work slowly around here- because they work hard at getting things right before announcing anything. This is a good opportunity to practice our patience!

What evidence do you have for the dev team ever having red's back?

They created and continue to host red server. And they didn’t just copy/paste blue and “flip a switch” turning pvp on; they actually coded a custom ruleset that they put some thought into and coded a custom pvp resist code they thought would make the experience fun. That didn’t pan out they way they intended which is understandable as these things are hard to get right, so they actually went back and adjusted the ruleset and the pvp resist code. They also did things like add serverwide pvp text when people are PKed.

Nilbog shared what he thought would make a good pvp teams ruleset, and we did learn that he was a pvp player from live. The discord pvp server was hyped up a little, though it ultimately never happened for reasons only the devs know. We of course will never forget all the love that GM Sirken showed the pvp playerbase with his GM events and continuous insistence that our playstyle is valid. There’s some controversy over GM Derubael that I never understood, but my opinion is that he did quite a bit for the pvp players as well.

Some pvp players have been straight up awful to the staff here, like cast. But the majority of us have been cool and normal; and looking at the Green UN discord makes the bluebie playstyle seem like a straight nightmare for staff. Again though, even the majority of bluebies are normal (not sure you qualify as cool) so it’s hopefully a worthwhile endeavor to let us nerds have our lovely elf sim.

Staff here have worked hard af for us red losers, and it’s frankly offensive that you would suggest otherwise.

Join raid guild, get the XP in every raid cuz you're in the DPS party.

You can add to the list that there was a recent round of reimbursements done. Cleaning up all those loose ends to clear the way before a server merge and subsequent release of Purple or whatever you want to call the newest PvE server.
