If you want to talk about me trying to take over a camp when the server came down for a patch (which was a regular occurrence in classic and perfectly legal as we all know) don't shit up other threads about it, there is an appropriate thread to discuss that in rants and flames. The mere fact that a GM took two hours to determine his final course of action clearly shows that there was some validity to my claim on the camp. Irregardless, this isn't the thread for that junk.
In this case since as far as I am concerned there is simply no reason to deviate from classic (and infact they already made this change - when the server started you could see anon/role people by /w all <zone> and the powers that be deliberately changed it to mirror classic) I'm just giving my opinion, pal. |

Anons annoy me when they're LFG anon.
/who all LFG: [anon] Soandso <Zerg Guild> etc. Retarded really. Also, when people /ooc for help with something and I can't see where they are, I'm likely to not help. When people /auc WTB or WTS something, I always /who all them to see where they are. If they're anon I don't buy or sell with them because I don't want to waste my time running around trying to meet up with them in Lguk or something. |

Magic... irregardless isn't a word! haha. |
I understand some people going anon, its needed sometimes. But to see SO MANY people anon is disheartening. I mean, how am I going to harrass you anon people for buffs? WTF? IT'S ALL ABOUT ME OK?

I cleric'ed on live and never went anon; rezz/buff requests aren't such a big distraction/annoyance as you would think. Especially because on live I'd glibly answer "sure, for 10000pp" or "Give me a full earring of Solstice kit" or "For a windblade" and I'd occassionally get lucky.
The worst part about anon is when an entire zone in is anon, and you /who all zone, and it ends up camped. The second worst part is having anon people ask you for something, because they're probably hiding the fact that the buff/rezz/port request is coming from a level 22 character 4000 zones away. The third worst part of anon is having someone anon in the group that cons dark blue, but seems to be having some trouble doing damage/holding agro/etc. Then you find out they're ~10 levels low the the rest of the party. I don't think it's awful, but it certainly is mildly annoying. |

I also agree that /anon people are stupid/annoying. The only people who I understand going anon are druids or clerics. But even then I would rather have a cleric say "no" to me or even never respond then to have it the way it is now with like 70% of the world anon. Just the other day I was in LGUK and someone sent me a tell and said are you really the only one in LGUK? and I replied "no there are 23 other people here." I really do not understand /anon for non clerics or druids. Is it because people want to hide where they are camping? But if so, suppose someone does a /who all and thinks someone isn't camping that spot then they will go there and find that you are there anyway. So I only see anon it as a major inconvenience without any benefit. It wouldn't bother me as much if you could see who was all in a zone even if they are anon. But would that defeat the purpose of /anon? I don't know because I don't even know what the benefit is. Maybe someone can clear it up for me. |
