How many free accounts have you created to hold all the scrolls you have collected?
How much would it have cost to buy a box for every one of those accounts and pay for 1-3 months of subscription for the time it took you to collect them all?
You are correct that is isn't "an exploit" as per the rules, but also, people would not have done this in 2000 because it would be too cost prohibitive for the vast majority of players. So it could be argued that your exploitation of the free accounts is sufficiently unclassic as to warrant this response from the GMs.
