Add me to the list of people who didn't even know clerics need that stuff. Just speak up.

I remember when I looted a ruby in chardok and gave it straight to the cleric (India), because I know they barely get any loot as it is.

It's a gemstone which is green in color. It drops off of random mobs of appropriate level and can be sold to a vendor for about 10 pp each. It is also the reagent used for some buffs (clerics and enchanters for example). It is consumed when the spell is cast.

As a side note, I never knew the correct pronunciation for peridot. I always thought of it as peri (like periscope) - dot (like polkadot). It's actually pronounced peri (like periscope) - doe (like bread dough). In my head though, I still think of it ending with a dot (hard to undo so many years of thinking like this) :-)

People calling them "dots" hasn't made it any easier to get right! ;)

Ahhh so you learned something today. Now you know. I actually agree with almost everything everyone has said here. If nothing else though, I had hoped to educate people about what it is like from a Clerics point of view. Am I going to go broke if you don't give me the Dot. No. I am doing OK thank you. I think that as a student of the game though that everyone whether you have played a class or not should familiarize themselves with the capability of other classes. It will make you a better player knowing what to expect.

Can I type and Med at the same time.....Yeah.....Should I have too...debatable.

Peridots are also used in the Iksar pike #5 quest. But then, as a student of Everquest I'm sure you already knew that. Personally, I'm not keeping track of every single reagent every single class uses. (Which wasn't you wanted anyway, you only wanted us to know what YOU use.)

If you need/want an item, just ask, you know, like a normal human being. And don't assume we all know what you need for your spells. Take some personal responsibility beyond a ranting post about your crappy tank who took a Peridot and got you killed.

The irony is, you call informing your group about this fact "debatable" but you'll come on these boards in a rant and then claim that all you wanted to do was educate people. Uh, hello?
