This stuff was being done by Robert Fripp and Brian Eno back in the 80s. It has some resemblance to Philip Glass also. Minimalism is old news, and his tape loops are f-ing annoying for their sloppy edits.

Reggie Watts uses his own samples and does it all live. Granted it's all his voice and a microphone and only 4 tracks at once but sometimes less is more.

I will definitely give this guy a listen when I get home.

Speaking of electronic music I really like the last Fourtet album and Caribou album (or is that considered "chillwave"? lol)

I love fourtet and caribou. Album Leaf is a great band as well.
