Are you? What zone did this happen to you in? What was his name? I think you've been reading fairy tales on the forums and accepting them as facts.

I played blue for years, everyday, then I started to realize how so many items and spells in the game have no use in PVE, on a blue server. So many classes and abilities had zero use. Half of the stats don't matter, you don't need resists. They do not matter. All you need is hp and strength, and wis/int.

I tried red, and I saw there was a reason to get items. You can actually use them on other players. On blue, the only reason to get loot is to sit in EC tunnel afk. All of the content was cleared on day one, so getting new items doesn't help your guild progress. And if you enjoy the raiding scene on blue you have something wrong with you

playing with 20 people on red is a hundred times more fun than blue

See, this is what makes me so sad about Red. Was PvP in EverQuest an afterthought? Of course. But it does have it's own unique aspects, and they really do add extra layers to the game. When I read a post like that it reminds me how much I'd love to play on Red ...

... until I remember the last time I tried and got griefed off the server. Here's hoping teams/discord server actually gets released someday so I can appreciate firsthand what fan D is talking about.

All the content was cleared on Red "Day 1" as well (and both of those are bullshit statements, it took a few weeks/months for any content to get cleared on the server).

There are casting mobs in this game, so resists can help against them, they aren't totally useless. Just because people often avoid casters to make life easier on themselves does not mean they don't exist and that resistance spells don't improve your fight against them. It it REQUIRED? No, no buffs are required, but it makes life easier doesn't it?

The only stat in the game with little to no meaning is AGILITY, as long as its over 75. Every other stat IS important for something.

Once you're 55+ and you can finally PvP...whats the point? So you can loot some copper off the corpse? Is rooting/blinding/melee dancing really that exciting to you? How is rooting...lets say a Warrior, and nuking them to death, ANY different than doing that same thing to a Mob? I see no difference. PvP just comes down to who attacks first and who has more MR. Its not some super skill game of cat and mouse...its, "did my root land? did my blindness land?".

I'd rather chat with hundreds of different people who have a 99% chance to buff and help me at any moment then just 20, half of which want to kill you in the most damaging way possible.

EQ PvP is terrible.

The same long winded depresssing statement can be made for blue server as well of course (raid scene, start lines, camp lawyering assholes that want YOUR camp, people arguing they got FTE on YOUR seafury and won't back down, level 25s in Crushbone killing all the orcs for belts to sell omg how is my level 10 character supposed to level??).

There's hundreds of people waiting to lawyer me off the server or get one up on me you guys. Have you even read the blue forums? Yikes :(

So for me:

I don't raid (at least not yet, my highest is 44), I might never raid or just raid casually a bit, I don't care about getting the HIGHEST POSSIBLE gear available, I just don't. Honestly I enjoy leveling new characters a lot, I'm going to take my main into the 50's but probably never hit 60. So this doesn't affect me.

Never had to wait in a line for anything so far, I purposefully rolled my first character that wouldn't need many "clickies" and things to be great, so...no issue here either. Lines are for people who can only play at peak times anyway, if I want something bad enough, I'll login at 4 AM to get it by myself. People waiting in line make that choice, they are not forced.

I don't camp AC as I don't need Jboots...so, never had this happen. Have yet to have ANYONE killsteal me on anything.

If a level 25 is killing orcs for belts for money, they are stupid. There are better ways to make money at 25. I do see people buying those belts 24/7 though, usually from lower level players and often that means from the new players that are showing up and maybe don't know what to do with belts yet.

The few instances I've run into a very high level in a low level area, they have WITHOUT EXCEPTION, stayed out of my camping area, did NOT hog the mobs and effectively made sure I had something to fight when I was ready, or if I hailed them and told them I wanted something specific, they have let me camp it without interference (hell, often they'll help me clear the leading rooms too). I have tons of stories I could tell that repeat this over and over, people here DO NOT SEEM AT ALL GREEDY, especially if they've been here a long time, they have what they care about, they want you to get stuff.

I know you've been tainted by Red to think everyone is a prick....but finding people who aren't friendly, helpful, and nice on Blue is actually pretty hard.

Minus some lines for popular stuff and maybe the competitive of the raid scene, there is nothing negative at all to even talk about on Blue.

You're right. Whoever lands the first root wins. Lets close this thread, the case has been solved.
