I have three grills, propane, wood burning(thats also a smoker), and charcoal.

I mostly use the propane because its so convenient, but the wood burning is my favorite for flavor and the charcoal is nice for when someone comes over that likes it, but I never take it out of the garage.

smoker and charcoal grill all you need. i am not a fan of propane grills.
