Listen pal, the negatives were real. No argument there. But many felt they were exaggerated despite the game being a flop and often a heap of non-working shit.

The class design was incredible and made it all worth it. The combat was just icing on the cake.

It felt better than TESO. Too much to list again, but you would be hard pressed to find anyone who speaks even neutral of Vanguard's class design and combat system.

I played the shit out of Vangard. I was on whichever the pvp server was as a cleric. I remember seeing some Lucid Vision on there and a dude with the name Shoon but wasn't the same one from Rallos. Gameplay was solid, trade skills were really fun as well. Some pvp classes were a little more op than others but fun overall none the less. End game content was nonexistent for a while but I heard they implemented some content well after I quit. Never went back to check it out.

I think the dominant guild on that server at the time was Carnage? I can't remember though. I liked to do my own thing but I had a few pals in there.

Was <Ebonlore> until they were banned.

Then Xanit K`Ven I think came into power along with 1 other guild I can't recall.

The class balance didn't really matter unless you really picked one of the few garbage classes like Disciple. Everything kinda raped and mostly every class had killing power, Cleric, Bloodmage, Shaman, Druid all had OP burst.

There's still a vanilla vanguard in development. Though it may end up being another eqclassic.org

If Daybreak had any sense they'd revive it.

Vanguard emu is a bit of a fraud, they don't have the data to recreate the experience I'm afraid.

You know the EQemu proejct, and P99 allegedly received backdoor help, right? They didn't collect all of the data themselves. Note how Rogean refuses to release the source code, you realize he won't share this "volunteer" project with anyone else right?

You know why that might be? I just told you why.

All emus are not created equal. VG emu will never be what P99 is to EverQuest Classic, no matter how much work they put into it. They have very very little data. I know they weren't leaked anything because they were screaming for help and spamming the forums for people to travel around and parse everything 3 days before Live closed.

Unless a daybreak beard leaks them, VG emu is just a husk, something to look at, never to be a functional experience.
