Guild wars? Fennin Ro? Oh yeah, Skorchers and Grudge Bearers...was awesome. A hot day in West commons, corpses everywhere, you could smell the blood.

Confirmed EQ Chat server more fun than red99

I wasn't a leader so I don't know the in-game interface, but basically you'd declare war on another guild and a time limit would be set up that both sides agreed to. It was active in all zones and guards would not intervene (I remember us throwing down/getting slaughtered throughout both Highkeep zones and N/S Karanas). It was a little fun but mostly terrible.. basically had to go /anon in order to avoid gank squads of high-levels crushing the mid-teens Exp groups.

I was involved in a guildwar on Vallon Zek. Guards did assist (guess that code was pvp-specific), and everything was buggy as hell.

The chat would always go nuts when the servers went down, people used to take on stupid names. I remember a bunch of people changing their names to moss snakes.

a_moss_snake_(your choice)

a_moss_snake_bard
a_moss_snake_centurion
a_moss_snake_revenant

Probably not funny now/you had to be there etc :D

Just like if Red99 had 1000 people and Blue server had 50 people that all new people coming to Project1999 would join Red since that's where most people are.

Its because MMO's suck ass with no other people to play with. Not really hard to understand.

Who wants to play MMO's solo?
Oh wait... seems like the entire new generation of players do. Solo and F2P they want and cry of they dont get it /rant

I remember the chat server being around during Luclin at least. But it took forever to load.
As far as guild wars, the only one I remember on FV was long after classic. #1 most hated but best geared SK dude kidnapped the daughter of #1 loved and respected pally dude and was holding her hostage on the top floor of Unrest. So pally's guild had to fight their way in against the other guild and the mobs in zone to kill that jerkwad. No one seemed to remember any other guild wars, probably because that was the first, and only, RP PVP event that worked in MMO history.

I'd love to play on a pre-Luclin PvP server with 500 pop. We had that here until Rogean decided to neglect the server then show up out of the blue and ban one guild for exploiting while leaving another equally-guilty guild, that happened to include staff members, untouched.

If teams happens, we'll have 500+ pop PvP again (it will never happen again on the current server... nothing about it attracts new players). Hopefully the staff won't fuck up teams like they did the current Red99.

If that were the case, to be honest I would likely have not started playing on p99 at all. While I do not mind PvP... I really can't say I ever want to be ganked.

Definitely remember seeing over 2k people on all servers available before they removed the count next to each servers name
