My theory:
Destron was WTBing Jboots, so I sent him a message on my mule (Disseller) and began organizing the deal. I never auctioned that I was selling Jboots that day so there's no way for anyone else to pick up on that information. He told me to log over and link the ring, I (Disarmonia) did. After that, he said he was getting on his monk that the jboots were for. I sat and waited for a reasonable amount of time, but he never contacted me again. During this time, I'm going to assume he forgot who he was talking to. So he /whoed 'Dis', and somehow managed to gloss over my name and begin talking to this Dissorient. Destron claims Dissorient also linked him a ring immediately, but that's really not possible unless Destron gave him some information first. ("Hey, you're the guy selling jboots right? Want my 6kpp?!?!") Sounds like Dissorient picked up on what was going on and scored himself some free platinum.
The weird thing is, even after I logged Disarmonia and got back on my mule, Disseller, which is the original character I contacted him on... I was semi-afk for hours and I never got a whisper about any of this.
Either Dissorient is the best scammer I've ever seen and managed to figure out you were buying a jboot MQ before you even said anything about it, like you say, OR, you're extremely stupid and basically went around waving platinum in the air asking who you're supposed to give it to. I'm going to stick with the latter.
It sucks you got scammed, but holy shit man, you couldn't even remember the names of the people you were dealing with originally, or the names of the people you're trying to accuse in your original post. Turn on /log, like I wish I had for this, or even notepad stuff next time.
GM confirm/deny plox.
Also, if you want, I'll sell you my MQ at a reduced price using a middleman of some sort because I'm such a swell guy.
