To be fair I musta bought half a dozen copies of EQ in my day, still have nightmares over the amount of CDs used to install these (remember these predate DVD disc capacities.)
To be truly classic we need to bring back HIGH SPEED 56K modems and uncertainty of disconnects when zoning |
It didn't predate DVD-ROM, Titanium was 2006. A lot of people had the drives, but I don't remember software really being distributed on DVD much for a while. Honestly it was never a major distribution channel that I ever saw, people started downloading software before it really took off. Of course I haven't bought a computer game since... uhh... maybe 2007 so maybe I dunno!

also be more suggestive and less blatant in your posts please, guys. |
I can't remember if it was the last version of DoS or the first Windows Edition but one of them had like 19 3 1/2 disks to install it. Pretty crazy. Just about burned up my drive to install it let alone about 3 hours to do it. :D
