Druid & Necro is a hella fun combo & VERY powerful. I agree she should get the opportunity to play what she wants :P

If she's NEVER played a game like this, YOU make a druid and have her make a warrior for the basic learning curve. This is how you run around, this is how you beat on chit, this is how you sell, this is how you con a mob, this is how you hail NPC to get quests, ect. Warriors are a lot tougher & she won't spend as much time running around looking for a body because a skeleton hit her twice, so she'll be encouraged to try different things. Make a human in FP area so it's nice & flat (no falling outta trees) with tons of ppl around.

<----the only EQ woman who's never played a druid above lvl 10, lol.

PS besides the obvious stuff, show her things that might interest her besides beating on mobs. The quests, the crafting, the lore!

Hey mine only got to mid 40's and she was originally just a port whore... I loved my mage and cleric :p

Never thought about teaching a friend as a war.. that's a pretty good idea.

Cleric might be an option too. My wife - yes, a RL female, never cared for the druid much either. She played one until 30 ish on EQLive.

She ended up sticking with the cleric. I notice a lot of RL girls that I knew, tended to play classes that 'helped' others... Clerics, Druids, Bards, Maybe Enchanters... enchanters can be 'edge of the seat' sometimes though.

My wife's playing a Mage this time around, she doesn't want to have a 'core' class with a lot on her shoulders.

Me, I'm playing the SK because I like a challenge and well - SK was my *first* choice in EQLive back when I started in 2000.

I think I started in 2000 - when did Kunark release?

My wife talked *me* into playing EQ then, lol - I waited a week or two, since Kunark was about to go live. She said I might be best waiting until after the xpac rolled out and they got done patching over two or more days, lol.

I agreed. Glad I did, because I was SO hooked.
