But it's not just the sound being too loud, when you die and loot your bags it get increasingly louder each bag you loot, I don't know if it's classic but it's one of the classic feature/bug I could live without.

Would like this confirmed as well, especially due to the fact that the one suggested the fix is banned :)

yes easy you just have to find the .wav file, open it in any sound program, lower the volume, and then save over it. I think that's all you have to do.

I used this thread by 'supermonk' : https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...d.php?t=340176. It helped me fix abnormally loud environment sounds while keeping other sounds from getting too quiet. It also addresses bag & merchant sounds.

All of the file links seem to be dead in that thread. Luckily I have saved the sound files from when I had this issue. Just make sure you backup the existing files just in case there is an issue and you need to revert.

Modifying your s3d files is perfectly fine and allowed. There are many terrible sounds in the game.
