Don't sell the gem back. Gems are generally lighter than their equivalent coin, so even convert your PP to gems for longer time under the weight limit.

Karana bandits are excellent money if you do the bandit sash quest as well. You'll need a druid who is good with harmony probably. Most camps have at least 4 spawns.
