Yes. We need to stop blaming drugs for situations like this. At some point you are sober and make the choice to take a drug. Anything you do is a result of that original, sober choice. In my drug experiences, the people who did stupid shit while on drugs were all people who took little responsibility for their actions even while sober. Nobody who has a sense of personal responsibility does things like this guy did, no matter how many drugs you feed them.

If they had wanted to kill him, they would have just shot him. Or choked him in the struggle. Or bashed his head against the pavement. Or any one of a million things that is just as easily explained given the circumstances as tasing him 14 times, while also requiring a lot less effort and time.

If he hadn't been causing a ruckus, the cops would never have gotten involved, and he would not have died. Maybe the drugs "caused" his behavior, maybe not. But regardless, it was his actions that put him into the situation where this result became possible.

Sensible people do not allow themselves to be placed into situations where they get tased to death.

Wasn't blaming the kid for his death, only for his actions leading up to that. There is certainly plenty of blame on both him and the police for the death. And I have never seen any drug, let alone LSD, that causes a responsible person to do stupid shit. Every time someone did something wholly idiotic while on drugs, it was a person who was a dipshit to begin with. If anything, we should encourage the use of drugs to help speed up the process of evolution.
