I like some of the turn based strategy games on playstation like disgaea (funny stuff heh) although that was ps2


for ps1 there was umm.. final fantasy tactics or vandal hearts


games like that are good for boxing because of turns and being able to pause it.

was fun, but... the characters say every ability they do...

In a different vein than the rest of these suggestions, try Tecmo's Deception: Invitation to Darkness and Kagero: Deception 2. Also, KINGSFIELD.
