The most fun I have in EQ isn't really with a 'perfect' group or a zerg raid force. Its doing more with less.

Yesterday with a Shaman, Druid (me), Cleric, and Enchanter we broke PoFear. Which was good fun having to actually try to not aggro lots and get overwhelmed, dying actually yielded some risk in getting back in for our corpses etc.

Stuff like that was always fun for me. The obscure groups with druid healers, ranger tanks, wizard pullers and stuff like that where peoples obscure skills at doing a role that isn't generally attributed to their class.

That sort of stuff is fun for me. Soloing challenging things also is fun. Breaking the seahorse cave in Kedge Keep for example. I really would like to get Tainted/Corrupted Seahorse soloed at some point in the future.

Zerging a dragon with 70 players and just burying them in your unskilled corpses isn't my idea of fun however.

Yes, I totally agree. Similar to that, I enjoyed groups that were maybe not the norm and somehow figuring out how to make it work with reasonable success.

70 =/= 250 :P. The massive scale of that zerg was quite compelling, given the chance I probably would've stuck around for the entire time... but idk.

But yea, zerging will 'win' the game cause stuff dies but it isn't necessarily fun unless the only fun you derive from the game is winning items.

If you don't have a multi-color ranger in your group you're doing it wrong.

Nothing really wrong with that.

As long as you have fun for a while, it was worth playing.

As long u enjoyed wasting time, it wasnt a time waste...

Hit the Bottom.

Pft, no, the real fun is in just preventing other people from killing shit. It doesn't matter if you have any real need to kill it or not, it's in knowing that someone else wanted to kill it, and you prevented them.

This is why I personally make sure noone ever kills Emperor Crush but me.
