Donor gear is all obtainable in game, on the PVP server that basically means 'wrathful' armor and weapons + gems/trinkets. You start with 'Furious' Gear so its a not gamebreaking. On the other servers I'm sure it's a bigger disparity since their carebearing for all their gear.

the pve servers basically can pick gear for their level, but you can also whore yourself out and vote for them on emu list servers and get the same stuff, just not instantly.

ah I see what you meant

It's still very possible that it took you 4 months to get to level 50 in wow vanilla however.
